LED Lighting Facts is about to turn off, this time for real!

D+R International recently announced that it will begin phasing out the LED Lighting Facts program starting March 1, 2019.

D+R International has been the implementer of Lighting Facts since its inception. According to reports, D+R has chosen to focus its work on other areas.

Current manufacturer users have until March 31, 2019 to submit new product listings and generate labels.

New users are not accepted.

Product updates are no longer accepted.

For annual subscriptions, any remaining fees after March 31, 2019 will be refunded.

The LED Lighting Facts website and label will remain accessible until December 31, 2019.

It is reported that in February 2018, affected by the budget of the US Department of Energy (DOE), LED Lighting Facts officially announced that it will close the program on March 30. Previously, due to DOE's support for the Lighting Facts program, the Lighting Facts program implemented a free policy.

       In May 2018, with the support of D+R International, Lighting Facts became valid again and can continue to apply. But in order to be able to continue to run this project for consumers, manufacturers and laboratories need to pay to maintain the validity of lighting facts.

       Over the past 10 years, the LED Lighting Facts program has had a significant impact on the development and adoption of LED lighting technology and products. The labelling program provides consumers with assurance that the performance of LED lighting products has been independently verified.
